"The Koochie Horse" is Irish Conners Bred and stands to Approved Mares Only. Our farm has exquisite foals available here by Stranger and our Premium Broodmares! Stranger has excelled in dressage and produces sport horse build cobs that are all around athletes! Gorgeous movement, fabulous conformation and exquisite heads, necks and shoulders. He reproduces true and we have been very proud to stand this stallion here.

Stranger is a Multi-National Champion Gypsy Cob who was used to introduce and promote the Gypsy Cob Breed outside of the U.K.

Born in Ireland he was exported to Germany and showed in many countries during his highlighted career. Stranger was trick trained in France and performed at Equitana and other major events to promote the Gypsy Cob breed. Stranger has been highly photographed and is exhibited in all three books on the breed, calendars, and promotional items. He is the ONLY stallion in the USA that has been put through the rigorous 50 day stallion testing and PASSED with flying colors scoring a 38 out of possible 40 points! This testing was in place as he was one of the very first Gypsy Cobs noted to become an approved breeding stallion in his new country and very simply, just like here in the USA, a breed association and registry must start somewhere. Seeing as how the Friesian Breeding Manager had begun the "Tinker" Association it was decided that they would put the highest level Friesian standards in place for the incoming "Tinkers" to be held to. Anyone involved in Friesians knows that this is something to aspire to. Stranger was the ONLY Gypsy Cob Stallion to pass these tests in any of the original sessions and he went on to win many National and International titles including Breed Champion & Champion of Alsfeld Hesse! He passes on his looks, his color, his absolutely flawless personality and temperament as well as his innate intelligence. He is a horse that touches your heart in the first two seconds you meet him. He has a truly unique "soul" and he is wonderful with his mares and foals as well. Truly a gentle and loving sire with unlimited capabilities, we are honored to introduce him to the USA and to stand him proudly at Emerald Winds Farm. He is truly "one of a kind" and, as his former owner has said to us of Stranger,"There Is No Other"

Our stallions have been hand picked by myself and my husband on our many travels overseas working on the breed and we are lucky to stand a truly fabulous group. We only buy top quality and we view literally thousands of cobs each year. We BUY one or two, sometimes none. We are quality breeders very dedicated to the breed. Each was chosen for a different specific reason to compliment mares. Some of these stallions have been tested and rated in countries where there are thousands of the breed, NOT hundreds by judges that have grown up with and ridden as well as shown the Gypsy Cob breed for a lifetime.

Not all great stallions of the Gypsy Cob breed are papered and rated in any registry and as common sense applies a fantastic stallion is a fantastic stallion with or without paperwork! You can take one look at Emerald Winds Colin and your jaw drops open and then he moves out and you cannot take your eyes off of him. He is balanced, he is perfectly built, he is exceptionally gentle and kind hearted and he is unbelievably intelligent! A good breeding stallion is NOT only all of these things, he PASSES THEM ON to his offspring and this entire group are PROVEN to pass on the qualities we all admire in the best of the best gypsy cobs!

There is a huge misconception and it seems to be growing here in the USA that "every" gypsy horse has a traceable heritage.

That is unbelievably false and many of the "bloodlines" we now see being touted on many trader web sites here in the USA are incorrect or downright falsified for sales purposes. Many times sales sites have incorrect sires and dams being shown on horses for sale. PLEASE if you are breeding and or buying Gypsy Cobs, be aware of this problem.

PLEASE BE A RESPONSIBLE BREEDER - Buy a horse FOR "THE" HORSE that you are considering. Buy the very best conformation that your money can afford and then figure out if you feel your animal has the best traits of the breed and should be used as breeding stock. Do an honest evaluation of your stock and then ask someone else to do the same. We all love our own horses (hopefully) but that does not mean every colt should be a breeding stallion or every mare a broodmare.

Please do not simply "breed" to perpetuate another gypsy cob or another animal. If you can look at your horse and "know" that he or she could be better conformation, could have better straighter legs, could have a better head, has too small a head, has too thick bones and too thin a body, is not in proportion, has bulge eyes, pig eyes, or eyes not in proportion, does not move fluidly or well or has gait problems, is not athletic and sound, has any health problems of ANY kind, if you can see ANY of this in your horse, Please Do Not Breed Your Horse. We are producing LIVE ANIMALS here that not only cost a good amount to purchase but a large amount to sustain and raise in good health.

"Not breeding" may mean you did not "get to make some of your money back" on a horse you thought you could do this with but you also may be saving yourself some major headaches and or expense with a problem pregnancy or a problem foal in the future. BE a Responsible Breeder is all anyone can ask. Remember, NOT ALL HORSES SHOULD BE BRED. NOT EVEN ALL GYPSY HORSES!

We need the breed to move forward in the USA with excellent conformation being at the forefront. We need good people to make responsible decisions for the future of the Gypsy Cob Breed in the USA is at stake.
